Lecture attendance among university paramedic students: A sequential mixed methods study

Background Lecture absenteeism is a widespread issue and has been reported for large range of university disciplines. The aim this study was to describe face-to-face lecture attendance within Bachelor Paramedicine cohort at Australian explore associated factors. Methods A sequential mixed method undertaken using counts, cross-sectional questionnaire semi-structured interviews. Attendance recorded four time points throughout one semester. Scale, standardised 34-item with 7-point Likert rating scale, used examine reasons behind students’ choice attend lectures or not, followed by further exploration via Results ranged from 30% 76%, mean 49.2%. On analysis the questionnaire, eight factors were identified, these largely supported interview data. Conclusion High levels not observed.
